(My favorite way to make the house smell cozy without lighting a single candle.)

Every year, as soon as the weather dips even a tiny bit, I pull out my simmer pot.

It’s the easiest little ritual that instantly makes the whole house smell like the holidays.

You toss in a few ingredients, let it warm slowly on the stove, and it smells like you’re in a Hallmark holiday movie!

What I use:

1. Glass Simmer Pot ($18)

I love this one because you can see everything inside while it steeps. It feels pretty & intentional instead of just “pot of boiling things on the stove.”

2. Simmer Mix-Ins ($14)

Dried oranges & cinnamon sticks!

This set will last all season, I switch them out every few days & they look cute simmering in a pot. They make your kitchen smell like you live in a cozy holiday cabin.

Extra add-ins I always throw in

Maybe this is a mom thing, but fresh apple slices or cranberries make it smell like home.

I’ll add whole cloves or a splash of vanilla if I want it sweeter. If you have a fresh Christmas tree, throw a sprig in! You really can’t mess it up.

Why I love this

the scent fills the whole house, it looks beautiful & it feels soothing.

It’s also one of the easiest little traditions to bring into your home during the holidays without spending much at all. Summer away y’all! What do you simmer?
