I anticipate a huge group of my Nola people will be heading out of town over the Mardi Gras break! Although I will not be joining you - I have people to glam- I pulled together a few travel must-haves that make trips smoother, lighter, and way less chaotic. Every single item is under $30, low effort, and genuinely useful. No fluff.

🎶 Portable Speaker + Sound Machine ($22)
This little speaker is doing more than one job. It’s great for music while you’re getting ready, but also doubles as a sound machine for hotels, Airbnbs, or shared spaces where silence isn’t happening.
Small, waterproof, wireless, and it holds a charge for up to 20 hours. Toss it in your bag and you’re covered.
💄 Flat-Lay Makeup Bag ($13)
If you hate digging through a makeup bag, this one’s for you. It opens completely flat so you can actually see everything. Brushes, skincare, makeup, all laid out in front of you & look at that separate page for brushes!!!
Bonus points for the divider and handle. It feels way more organized than it has any right to at this price.
🧳 Compression Packing Cubes ($25)
Packing cubes are already a game changer. Compression packing cubes are next level.
They keep outfits together, save space, and make unpacking less of a mess. Especially helpful if you’re hopping around or trying to squeeze everything into a carry-on.
💡 Lighted Travel Mirror ($14)
Hotel lighting is… unreliable. This rechargeable mirror gives you consistent light no matter where you are. Great for makeup, skincare, or just making sure you don’t walk out with mascara under one eye.
Slim, lightweight, and easy to throw in a bag.
🖤 Comfy Travel Outfit ($29)
Obviously this one is a must!
Travel days call for comfort, but that doesn’t mean sloppy. This set is soft, easy, and still pulled together enough to wear straight to dinner or errands when you arrive.
Perfect for flights, road trips, or long days out.
Final thought:
Travel feels better when you’re prepared but not overpacked. These are simple upgrades that make trips smoother without blowing your budget.
If you’re traveling soon, save this post or grab a couple of these now so you’re not panic-ordering two days before you leave. Been there. 😅
